    Kazakhstan has resumed the transportation of oil via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, Azerbaijan’s Energy Ministry told Trend.

    Roughly 90,000 tons of Kazakh oil was exported through Azerbaijan via the BTC pipeline since early 2017, the Ministry told.

    New oil and natural gas reserves have been discovered in Kazakhstan's Rozhkovskoye field, the country's national oil and gas company KazMunaiGas announced Wednesday.

    The break-up of the USSR in December 1991 and the collapse of demand for Kazakhstan’s traditional heavy industry products resulted in a short-term contraction of the economy, with the steepest annual decline occurring in 1994. In 1995-1997, the pace of the government programme of economic reform and privatization quickened, resulting in a substantial shifting of assets into the private sector of Kazakhstan.
