Holland’s activities at Expo Astana 2017 are an ode to the Dutch mind-set: Low lands, high energy. The Dutch have been battling water for centuries. Over time, the country's geographical position below sea level and the confrontations resulting from this formed the famous Dutch mind-set. It made the country collectively push back the waters and reset its frontiers. Making way for a creative breeding place with an energy which is both thriving and unique. Always in the typical Dutch way: open, exploratory, cross-pollinating and purposeful.

Visitors to the Holland Pavilion will be able to experience the development of the Dutch mind-set in three shows, the highlight being an innovative digital surprise that will be revealed on the opening day of Expo 2017.

The idea is to provide a platform for global dialogue on strategic priorities in the use of modern energy sources and to seek, in a coordinated manner, a response to the challenges of our day. The main goal is to promote a new energy model for the future, which involves the progressive development of our planet resulting in the wellbeing of future generations.

Four pieces of tower crane, were specially produced just for the Sphere,” he said. Also, a special foundation system with bore piling for high-bearing capacity was also completed for the project.

The Expo 2017 Astana city was primarily divided into two phases. These included 97 exhibition and cultural pavilions and a residential development. In addition, service areas included shopping, socio-cultural, educational and civic facilities and parks and parking spaces. Phase 1, or the ‘Expo Mode’ entailed the construction of the exposition buildings. These included the central Kazakhstan pavilion, theme, corporate and international pavilions, as well as hotel, retail, art and performance areas.

It also included the construction of a series of buildings that will act as a “covered city”. This provides residential, retail and office spaces. Phase 1 is primarily serving the Expo and its visitors. Bearing in mind the expo theme of “Future Energy,” the buildings are being constructed to take advantage of their site location.

We had a great steak and a few brews at Line Brew, which is a favourite for expats in Astana. But there are plenty of other options including Pivovaroff and The Barley. Enjoy!
